Who can do this Alma TED hair treatment?

How much does it cost?

Our pricing varies depending on each patient's health condition, how many treatments the patient will need, and if there are other additional treatments that might be prescribed to help out. We offer a variety of options to fit your needs and budget.

Those who prepay and purchase packages get huge discounts, compared to those who pay per session.

Treatments can be as low as $500 per treatment depending on the package picked and the number of serums used per treatment.

The TED serum is 5ml and covers about 5 credit-card-sized sections of the scalp, so that could be 1/3 or 1/4 of a person's head. Another thing to consider is how long your hair is, as more serum tends to be wasted on the hair instead of going to the scalp when dealing with longer hair, so more serum is used. This tends to be the case with women, and also men with longer hair. However, for men with very short hair or more bald spots, we are sometimes able to use just one serum to cover the major areas. Each additional serum is $300, and you could use up to 4 serum for the whole head, although most people don't really treat the back which is usually the last to lose hair too.

However, a minimum of 2-3 treatments are required, and some can need up to 8 or 10 monthly treatments (usually due to the age or severity of the hair loss), so packages are recommended so you can save on the treatment cost.

If you purchased a bigger package, and it turns out that you responded so well that you don't need the rest of the package that year, the rest of the treatments in the package can be used for the "maintenance" treatments later (which could be a year later or could be 3 months later, again depending on the person's preferences and condition, as each person is different).

What can I expect during the Consultation?

During your consultation, NP Linton will conduct a thorough evaluation of your scalp and hair, assessing hair density and overall scalp health to create a personalized treatment plan.

Your most recent blood chemistry labs will also be reviewed, as hair loss can sometimes be linked to vitamin and mineral deficiencies, aside from the usual genetic or hormonal causes. If needed, supplementation may be recommended to address these issues.

What other treatments might be used in alongside with the Alma TED treatment at Long Life Med?

Depending on the underlying condition for your hair loss, prescription medications like topical minoxidil, finastaride (for men), spironolactone (for women), or another DHT-blocker may be prescribed.

Nutritional supplements rich in biotin, zinc, vitamin D, and other nutrients can support the hair growth process initiated by Alma TED by addressing potential deficiencies linked to hair loss. You can supplement these individually, depending on the deficiency, or you can also use Nutrafol and other similar supplements.

NIR and Red Light Therapy is also normally used in conjunction with the Alma TED treatments, and our patients at Long Life Med get complimentary sessions together with any service or membership they buy.

How do I prepare for my Alma TED treatment?

To prepare for your appointment, ensure your scalp is clean and dry, free from any hair products, oils, sprays, or fibers.

Shower and shampoo thoroughly before treatment, avoiding the use of conditioners or other products near the treatment area. Spend extra time rinsing your hair to ensure it’s completely clean.

Avoid coloring your hair for one week before and after treatment.

What can I expect AFTER the Alma TED treatment?

Avoid coloring your hair for one week before and after treatment. Post-treatment, you can wash your hair after 24 hours (preferably 48 hours), but refrain from working out, sun exposure, sauna, or any activities that cause sweating during this time.

You may notice improvements within one month, though at least three Alma TED treatments, spaced one month apart, are recommended for optimal results. Individual responses vary based on underlying conditions, but common benefits include decreased shedding, increased hair growth, improved hair quality and texture, and overall healthier-looking hair and scalp.

Can I use stem cell products like exosomes instead of the TED serum?

Absolutely.

It is actually recommended for the worst cases, although we still can't guarantee any results, because just like the TED serum, it still can't regrow any dead follicles, just rejuvenate it better and faster than the TED serum. There should be a follicle there to begin with that just needs rejuvenating.

The price is also higher as different stem cell products have different prices and they're much much more expensive than the TED serum.

Does Alma TED Regrow a New Hair Follicle?

Unfortunately, no. The only way to restore hair growth to a severely depleted area is through hair transplantation.

However, Alma TED can be used in conjunction with hair transplants to help slow, stop, and reverse the progression of hair loss in non-transplanted area. It is also best to do the Alma TED on your donor area so the donor follicles will be healthier, and on the future transplant area so it will be more receptive to the new hair donations. It's like fertilizer for your hair follicles.

There has also been evidence of sprouting of multiple hairs from adjacent hair follicles.

Is there any guarantee that this will work?

There are no guarantees in medicine. Each person is different, have different underlying conditions, and will also respond differently. It could be a lot of factors, but mostly due to age, health and nutritional deficiencies or toxicity.

We can guarantee that it will work, but not how much it will work or how fast.

We are however a Functional Medicine clinic, and we don't just treat individual symptoms. We always try our best to get to the root causes of the issues, and in this case, the causes of your hair loss. It might cost you more money for tests and possible complementary interventions, but it will help the treatment work the best, instead of just maybe 30-70% effective because there was some underlying issue fighting against it.
